Dairy Revolution! Oyebanji declares Promasidor a ‘Strategic Partner’ in Ekiti’s Growth

Ekiti State Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, has reaffirmed the vital role of Promasidor Nigeria in the state’s economic transformation, describing the partnership between the company and the state government as a model for industrial growth and public-private collaboration.
Speaking during a visit to Promasidor’s headquarters and factory in Lagos, Governor Oyebanji highlighted the success of Ikun Dairy Farm, a flagship initiative between the state and the company.
He noted that the project has significantly advanced agricultural development, job creation, and economic prosperity in Ekiti.
“We see Ikun Dairy Farm as our own, and Promasidor Nigeria as a strategic partner in our drive for economic expansion and shared prosperity,” Oyebanji stated.
“The impact of this collaboration is evident, with traditional leaders like the Onikun of Ikun-Amure, Oba Olatunde David Olusola, testifying to its economic benefits. As we look ahead, we are eager to deepen this partnership and unlock more opportunities for growth.”
The governor further assured Promasidor of his administration’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment.
He revealed that discussions had been initiated with the Kwara State Government to explore the possibility of extending the dairy initiative beyond Ekiti, while also noting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s interest in supporting agricultural expansion in the state.
Welcoming Governor Oyebanji, Promasidor Nigeria’s Managing Director, Mr. François Gillet, commended the government’s dedication to economic development and pledged the company’s continued investment in the state.
“We are proud of the transformation we have achieved in Ekiti through this partnership. Your Excellency’s support has been instrumental in making our dairy farm a success, and we remain committed to strengthening agriculture, manufacturing, and job creation in the region,” Gillet said.
The governor’s visit comes amid growing recognition of Promasidor’s 500-hectare farm in Ekiti as a model for sustainable food production and local resource integration.
During his tour of the company’s Lagos factory, he was briefed on Promasidor’s advanced production technology and its efforts to boost Nigeria’s economy through local sourcing and manufacturing.
The enhanced collaboration between Ekiti State and Promasidor will focus on expanding agricultural and industrial production, increasing employment and skills development, and strengthening food security through sustainable farming practices.
With Promasidor’s flagship brands—Cowbell, Top Tea, and Onga—rooted in local sourcing, the company remains committed to driving economic growth and corporate social responsibility.
