Family releases date, arrangements for Pa Ayo Adebanjo’s burial

The family of Pa Ayodele Adebanjo has announced that the late Afenifere leader will be buried on May 3 at his hometown in ljebu Ode, Ogun State.
A statement signed by Ms Ayotunde Ayo-Adebanjo, Mrs Adeola Azeez, and Mr Obafemi Ayo-Adebanjo on behalf of his family said proceedings will commence with a Day of Tributes/ Service of Song at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The burial ceremony is scheduled for Friday, starting with the Wake at Adebanjo’s Country Home, Isanya Ogbo, ljebu Ode, Ogun state, followed by the interment and entertainment of guests at his country home.
A Thanksgiving service is scheduled for May 4 at St Phillips Anglican Church, lsanya Ogbo, ljebu Ode, Ogun state by 10am.
The statement urged friends, family members, political and business associates, as well as the general public, to support the family with prayers for a befitting burial.
The elder statesman died on Friday, February 14, 2025, at his Lekki, Lagos, home at the age of 96.
