JUST IN: IGP deploys 38 CPs to commands, formations

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has assigned 38 Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various Commands and Formations across the country.
This announcement was made by the Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement released on Friday.
The deployment of the CPs is effective immediately, with nine CPs assigned to key state commands, and 29 others taking charge of different police formations nationwide.
The state commands receiving new leadership include CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba in Zamfara; CP Bretet Emmanuel Simon in Taraba; CP Christopher Ado Emmanuel in Yobe; CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosayin in Cross River; and CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman in Niger State.
Other notable deployments include CP Sani Omolori Aliyu to Bauchi State, CP Bello Shehu to Katsina State, CP Saka Adewale Ajao to the Federal Capital Territory, and CP Ojo Adekimi to Kwara State.
Adejobi highlighted that this move is part of a wider strategy to tackle escalating security concerns and improve policing by addressing community-specific needs. He stated, “Each CP will be tasked with implementing strategies tailored to the unique demands of their assignments, ensuring proactive and effective policing.”
The IGP also urged the newly appointed CPs to focus on combating insecurity and misconduct, underscoring the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to law enforcement through intelligent and responsive policing.
This deployment underscores the determination of the new police leadership to ensure the force is adequately prepared to confront the nation’s security challenges.
