The university’s Vice President of Campus Life, Dr. Hamza Garba, announced the decision in an official statement, citing multiple breaches of the institution’s code of conduct and failure to meet safety standards.
The statement read, “I am directed by the management to inform our esteemed parents and students that the university has withdrawn its approval for Al-Ansar Indabo female students’ hostels.”
According to Dr. Garba, the hostels were found to be non-compliant with university regulations governing private student accommodations.
Reported infractions included immoral behaviour, poor water and electricity supply, student violence, unauthorised night movements, and cohabitation with unidentified tenants.
“These issues pose a serious threat to the well-being of our students,” he stated, emphasising the university’s commitment to ensuring a morally upright and secure environment for learning.
The affected students have been directed to vacate the hostels immediately after their current semester examinations.
MAAUN warned that any further association with the facilities would be at the students’ own risk and that the university would not be held responsible for any consequences of non-compliance.
However, the university assured that it is working closely with security agencies to enforce the directive and urged students and parents to contact the Office of the Vice President, Campus Life, for assistance in finding approved accommodation options.
