Niger Delta leader Edwin Clark dies at 97

Ijaw and Niger Delta leader, Pa Edwin Clark, has died at the age of 97.
The demise of the the former Federal Commissioner for Information was confirmed in a terse statement by a representative of the family, Prof. C. C. Clark, on Tuesday.
The statement said, “The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON on Monday, 17th February 2025.
“The family appreciates your prayers at this time. Other details will be announced later by the family.”
Clark’s death happened a few days after that of the Afenifere chieftain, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, who died on February 14.
