Oborevwori urges Ibori to join APC

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has said that former Governor James Ibori would be warmly welcomed into the All Progressives Congress if he decides to join.
Oborevwori, who officially defected to the APC alongside former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the entire Delta State Peoples Democratic Party members on Monday, called on Ibori to make the move as well.
Although Ibori has been working with the APC for the past two years, he has yet to officially announce his defection.
Speaking during a vigil Mass in honour of the former Deputy Governor of the state, Professor Amos Utuama, held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Otu-Jeremi, in Ughelli South Local Government Area on Tuesday, Oborevwori emphasised the need for unity among the Urhobo political class.
He said, “We will welcome former Governor James Ibori to our party, the APC.”
Paying glowing tribute to the late Prof. Amos Utuama, the governor praised his selfless service, stating: “I am very happy to be here today, seeing this large gathering for one man. The message today is not about the dead, but about the living.”
Oborevwori prayed that the passing of Utuama would bring peace and unity to Ughelli South and the entire Urhobo nation.
He extolled Utuama’s virtues, noting that he lived a purposeful life: “He lived well and died well.”
