Yobe gov not joining coalition — Aide

Mamman Mohammed, the Director General of Press and Media Affairs to Yobe State Governor, Mala Buni, has said that the governor has no plans to join any coalition movement.
Mohammed stated this in a statement released on Saturday.
He called a claim by a Facebook user, George Udom, that his principal was joining the coalition group “fabrications” and “baseless assumptions.”
He said, “Governor Buni has never considered joining any coalition.”
He noted that Buni is strongly committed to the All Progressives Congress, adding that he had served as the party’s National Secretary and National Chairman for two terms.
He also stressed that the APC’s structure and Buni’s loyalty to the party remain strong, dismissing any talk about him leaving the party.
It went further to criticise Udom’s claims as a “wild goose chase” and a “poor political calculation,” saying that Udom does not understand Buni’s political choices.
A separate report had claimed that five APC governors might move to the People’s Democratic Party before the 2027 elections and included Buni’s.
However, there was no proof for this claim, and Buni’s office has denied having any such plans.
